INSTRUCTOR PROFILE | GERARD FELIPE

Sensei Gerard Felipe, 3rd Dan, is the Branch Head of JKA Geelong. He is a direct student of the late Takaatsu Nishimura Shihan 7th Dan, and is the youngest elected President of the JKA Australia, serving from 2020 to 2021 after an un-opposed nomination was made by Nishimura Shihan.

Gerard Sensei is a licensed JKA Instructor and has competed in various local, national and international tournaments including representing Australia in the United States (2014), Japan (2014), Thailand (2015) and more recently in Limerick, Ireland (2017).  Gerard is currently ranked 5th in his age-category (18-21 years old) and has been qualified to represent Australia at the next JKA World Karate Championships to be held in Tokyo, Japan. 

JKA Geelong is the first martials arts club to introduce traditional Japanese Shotokan karate in the history of the City of Greater Geelong, and welcomes everyone of all ages and backgrounds to pay a visit or attend regular training sessions available in the highly sought-after place to live, in Highton and Wandana Heights.
