NISHIMURA TAKAATSU SHIHAN

1945 – 2021

It is with great sadness that we inform that our JKA Australia Chief Instructor, Nishimura Takaatsu Shihan, passed away peacefully on 11 October 2021.

Nishimura Shihan was a highly regarded and respected karate instructor and individual, both in Japan and Australia. He played a pivotal role in establishing JKA in Australia.

Nishimura Shihan’s knowledge of karate and the level of his instructions were exceptional. Those who were fortunate to have trained directly with him would have witnessed and experienced this first-hand. As a great mentor and teacher, Nishimura Shihan inspired and motivated many to pursue both their karate and personal goals.

Nishimura Shihan will be heavily missed by the JKA family.

As a loving and caring family-man, Nishimura Shihan is survived by his wife Robyn, his 4 children and grandchildren. JKA Australia extends our deepest condolences to Nishimura Shihan’s family.
